Think of this expansion board as a mSATA to USB3.0 adapter onto a Raspberry Pi form factor.
This means that, while the mSATA drive plugs into the board (fixed with two screws), additional mounting can attach the expansion board to the Raspberry. The mSATA drive becomes available to the Raspberry unit as a USB drive.
With both - Raspberry Pi and the expansion board - lining up, a USB to USB clip can be used to connect the expansion board. For projects where the USB connectors don't line up, a provided USB cable can be used.
The expansion board can also be used standalone to connect a mSATA to your computer via USB - cable provided.
